Preparing to Run

I have found that running for Congress is a major life decision.  To be successful, it takes a strong and supportive family, a willingness to open up your life in ways you never imagined before, eagerness to meet thousands of people, determination to raise money to put out your message, organizational skills to run a campaign, and the energy to do it all at once.  Most of all, it takes a love of country and community to sustain you through the grueling process.

I began exploring a run for Congress in September. Inspired by friends who stood up with me at rallies and town halls, I have met with many people to learn what it means to be a candidate. I met with local and national Republicans.  I quizzed past and current candidates.  I have consulted experts and volunteers, business leaders and community activists, Republicans, Democrats and Independents.  I have worked on campaigns, recruited volunteers, and seen first hand what it takes to win.

My preparation has also included courses about successful campaigning, media and fundraising. Locally and in Washington, D.C., I have been working up the steep learning curve from dreamer to do-er.  It has been a full time job.

I will soon make my final decision.  It is exciting to see the pieces coming together, and my motivation to run is growing each day.  I am launching my website in advance of a final decision to introduce myself to a greater number of people and to seek feedback from all who want to offer it.  Please check it out, and in the process learn more about me.

I won’t keep you waiting for long.  Bucks County and the 8th district need a winning candidate, and I intend to make that happen.
